From the reviews

For over half my life I've been receiving massages, the type depended on my lifestyle and activities I was experiencing at the time. As a senior, receiving a massage has never been more important, keeping my muscles flexible and my Chi flowing.

My first time going to Sophie, but it will definitely not be the last time! I had so many knots and thanks to seeing others' wonderful reviews on here, I thought I would try this place out. I'm so glad I did.

★★★★★ — Anita, Sep 2021

My massage from Sophie was excellent, just the right amount of pressure. She knew right where I was stressed, without me telling her. The place was clean and inviting and relaxing, just what I needed. I would definitely recommend her, if you looking for a massage to relive stress and tension or sore muscles.

★★★★★ — Padraic, Oct 2021

I highly, highly recommend. I almost feel too relaxed to write this review. I'm always nervous about looking for a new masseuse but my massage was amazing. I still feel relaxed and euphoric 2 hours later. She really seemed to focus on problem areas.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
