Why Silver Streak Acupuncture is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “of motor and trigger point therapy (i.e. “dry needling”) and the application of electroacupuncture medicine, enhanced with traditional acupuncture. What clients say about the cupping here
“I've seen Megan for a variety of needs over the years (hormonal support, cosmetic acupuncture, neck pain, low back pain, jaw pain, allergies, mental health).”
“We agree that she is a great listener, supportive, thorough and follows up about the progress or continuation of symptoms that were addressed the session before.”
“She will also take time to explain to you the theory and scientific background behind acupuncture, if you're interested, but is also happy to dispense with the "woo woo" stuff if you prefer.”
“Megan will explore a variety of treatment options with you and will walk you through the (NOT painful) en-needling process every step of the way.”
“Her treatments for my injuries (recreational athlete), allergies, hormonal changes and emotional challenges are highly effective.”
“Prior to seeing Meghan, I had attempted to get better by simply resting my back whenever I could for several weeks, but I only started to improve the day after my first visit with Meghan.”
From the reviews
I have enjoyed acupuncture from Megan regularly for 2 years and trust her completely. Her treatments for my injuries (recreational athlete), allergies, hormonal changes and emotional challenges are highly effective. Megan is truly a gifted professional. Her style is thorough, gentle and supportive.
Meghan provides everything one looks for in a medical professional - she is experienced, knowledgeable, and impressively attentive and empathetic. I first started going to Meghan for acupuncture in 2016 after throwing out my back.
Megan has been my acupuncturist for ongoing maintenance for the past year. I am also a licensed acupuncturist, and hunching over patients on a table all day left me with tightness and pain in my neck and back.
My mom and I both see Megan for acupuncture. We agree that she is a great listener, supportive, thorough and follows up about the progress or continuation of symptoms that were addressed the session before. I’ve recommended Megan to friends who have had similarly great experiences under her care.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
