From the reviews
I recently had a cupping session at Silver Leaf Acupuncture, and it was fantastic. Margo, the practitioner, explained the process thoroughly and tailored the treatment to my muscle tension and stress relief needs. The suction from the cups created a gentle pull on my skin, which was surprisingly relaxing.
I went for my first ever acupuncture treatment yesterday. Everything about Silver Leaf inspired quiet, calm, confidence. From the minimal, contemporary office to Margot’s professional, informative, demeanor and introductory explanation, I felt comfortable and at ease.
I went and saw Margo at 41 weeks pregnant hoping to kickstart labor. She got me in straight away when we reached out to her. She was kind and calming. The effects of her work took place immediately with Braxton hicks contractions the rest of the day and then early labor began that night.
Margo is amazing. I previously tried acupuncture elsewhere & I had so much trouble relaxing & not freaking out (because needles), but then I started seeing Margo. She’s great at calming you & making sure you’re comfortable through the entire experience.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
