I had never gone to a spa before, so I wasn’t really sure what I was expecting. I work with, and am good friends with Rachel, who told me to make an appointment. The atmosphere is comforting and relaxing. Rachel did a fantastic job making sure I was relaxed and comfortable before the session.
My wife and I went to this spa for her birthday and had a couples massage. It was absolutely incredible. Very clean, very neat, very well organized, and very friendly staff. That really know what they’re doing. I am even more grateful that it’s less than 2 miles from our house.
I cannot say enough good about Shekhinah Spa! The atmosphere is so inviting and relaxing, they use essential oils I can trust, and Rachel did an amazing job taking care of me. She pays special attention to your needs and makes sure you leave feeling amazing!
I visitied this spa for the first time and had Kirsten Virnig do some cranial sacral work on me. I have issues where my skull stops rotating, and gets a chemical buildup causing headaches. I let it go a little too long, and was having issues with pain from behind my ear, down my neck and into my shoulder.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
