From the reviews
This was my second visit to the ymca for therapy over the last two years. With the current turnover of employees at all businesses, I was very surprised that all the same staff was still there since my last visit. That was great. The staff there is professional.
Can’t ask for a better physical rehabilitation center. The staff are super knowledgeable and very personable to work with. One’s rehab goals are assessed upfront and very personalized/custom therapy follows in order to achieve those goals.
I came to the Santara Therapy Center 12 weeks ago after bicep surgery. The team here did a wonderful job getting my arm back in to shape. From the front desk, Nick, out of his way to assist and support you.
The care I received here was top-notch. These folks don't "rubber stamp" your treatment. Based on how things were going, each session could be tailored to how I was that day, in concert with the long-term therapy goals. And the "at-home" part of things was easy to understand, with lots of online resources.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
