From the reviews
I received some very soothing and effective treatment for a nerve pain issue. Kristen was really genuinely so kind and helpful and went the extra mile when it came to researching my needs and coming up with treatment strategies. She will listen to your concerns.
Today I went to Kristen for an acupuncture treatment, and had a wonderful experience. The location was easily accessible with plenty of parking. The space was clean and peaceful. I enjoy self care and practicing the energetic arts, but I was very surprised at the results of my appointment today.
Kristen is an amazing and knowledgeable provider of Chinese medicine. The constant back pain after multiple weekly sessions has allowed me to resume normal daily activities. I'm a walker and yoga enthusiast.
I decided to try acupuncture during a very tough recovery from ACL surgery that was not going well. I had never tried before but Kristen's site said she works on sports injuries so I went for it and I'm glad I did.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
