From the reviews
As a personal trainer and lifelong athlete, I’ve worked with many different bodywork and recovery professionals over the years, and Sam truly stands out. He has an exceptional understanding of how training, repetitive movement, and aging affect the body, and he consistently knows exactly how to address whatever issues…
Sam Farnsworth is a gifted bodyworker, who knows how to keep active people doing what they love best without pain and unnecessary injury. I am a fairly serious athlete, who played crazy amounts of tennis every day for twenty years before taking up riding and jumping horses—as many as three a day—in my mid-40s.
Incredible!!! I have suffered from piriformis syndrome which is very painful and Sam immediately understood my issue, more so than my physician. My first appointment was beyond expectation.
The recent retirement of my former massage therapist left me high and dry. I tried several places that were recommended and had pleasant but superficial results. I recently found Sam Farnsworth and I believe I have a keeper. First visit was more exploratory, learning for both of us. I look forward to much more!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
