What clients say about the cupping here
“At first, I was skeptical; I have never had acupuncture before and really was looking for a solution to muscle pain I have been having.”
“After a thorough consultation we decided to go with a treatment focusing not on my neck and shoulders since that was a secondary issue, but focus instead on my broken heart.”
“I reached out to Sage, and instead of making me come in for a consultation, they listened and explained exactly where I could get the herbs that I needed locally and how to prepare them!”
“Marge who is such a wonderful therapist understood the need and wants I needed for my body and mind and she was AMAZING and made me feel so comfortable.”
“This entire practice has such a welcoming, home-like feeling, and you can tell they truly care about their patients.”
From the reviews
My mother has been here a couple times, loved it and finally talked me into coming with her and trying it out. After getting in a "minor" motorcycle accident last year I have had neck/back pain that I just cant shake. Well I went ahead and tried the cupping treatment, while my mom did the acupuncture.
I CAN NOT begin to explain how amazing Dr Kim is and how understanding, flexible and patient he is. 🙌🏽 Hayley the receptionist, is very kind, quick to respond and personable. They know how to provide excellent service to their patients.
Dr. Kim is a phenomenal physician. I've been going to him for 3-4 years. His skill kindness and humanity are unmatched in the medical, health, and wellness field. I'm so happy to be back in his care. Let's hope that the VA doesn’t disrupt my treatment again. My health has been haywire. I so excited. 🤩😃 ...
Highly recommended. This amazing doctor got rid of my carpel tunel pain in just two sessions! It has been about 8 months since my second and last treatment and the pain never came back. I was skeptical at first, but I am sold now. If you need good, honest and reliable acupuncture, you've found the right place.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Sage Wellness Center Acupuncture & Herbs
Sage Wellness Center Acupuncture & Herbs comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
