From the reviews
I've been going to Jen at Ross Acupuncture for over 1 year as I work through a long recovery for a complicated hip surgery (+ follow up surgery). Not going to lie - I did not want to try dry needling and tried all other options before visiting (I'm not a fan of needles) including months of weekly PT.
I’d had chronic pain in my neck and around my shoulder blade for years, and spent thousands of dollars on physical therapy and chiropractic work until I heard about dry needling. Dr Ross, while very skilled at massage therapy, really changed my life with dry needling, electro stimulation and cupping.
Jen is an amazing clinician. Her use of dry needling to release my lats, teres, and upper trap - while not fun - is one of the most effective methods I have experienced to facilitate recovery in my shoulders. As a physical therapist, I have sent her many of my clients to help carry over the work that I do.
I've seen Jennifer and Joseph for about a year to work on a back injury that my doctor wanted me to get a steroid shot for. Jennifer said "let us be your steroid shot" and she and Joseph truly fixed me.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
