From the reviews
Amazing acupuncturist. I really struggled to find an acupuncturist since emigrating to the US. I had been spoiled, living in Japan and I tried a few in NYC and in the Nyack area that all had good reviews but they fell flat.
I came to Karen primarily for support during IVF treatment and was wonderful to work with. She listened to my needs and came up with a treatment plan that we modified as I got further along in my journey.
I threw out my neck the day before a trip to Europe. Karen made time to see me, asked detailed questions, and did an excellent job. She is calming, reassuring and thoughtful. Her practice is thorough and her style is communicative. I feel significantly better. 10/10 would recommend.
Karen is a wonderful acupuncturist, and person. She is calming and extremely knowledgeable in her field. She is also very generous with her time, ensuring you are comfortable throughout the whole process.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
