From the reviews

Today was my first time doing acupuncture. I went in feeling pretty skeptical. I was exhausted and naseas from being pregnant. After my first session I seriously felt like a younger version of myself. My body felt faster and lighter, my brain fog was lifted, my nausea was milder.

I've been a patient with doctor Harris at rogue valley acupuncture for a little over a year now. I started after I gave birth to my son. Between living my entire life in pain and after labor pains, this is the first time I can say I've actually gotten some kind of relief. Dr.

★★★★★ — Momo, Sep 2023

After searching for the right acupuncturist I found Dr. Harris. He is definitely helping me with long term chronic pain issues that were out of control. I don't expect miracles, but in only a few sessions I've seen changes and improvement in pain levels in several problem areas. Dr.

★★★★★ — Cynthia, Jan 2023

Dr. Harris is a pillar of the community and a genuinely good man. He’s quick to sacrifice his time for others and still managed to master his craft. With repeated treatment with high stimulation he has reduced various headaches and migraines and sped up the recovery of my poor thrown back.

Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Rogue Valley Acupuncture

Rogue Valley Acupuncture comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
