From the reviews

I’ve been a client of Alex’s for 10 years. He’s helped me in substantial and unexpected ways. He helped me to stop drinking alcohol several years ago through relaxation techniques, suggestions and regular stress relieving massage. We’ve done hot stone, deep tissue, cupping and Swedish techniques.

★★★★★ — David, Feb 2023

I can't recommend Alex enough. He offers both 60 and 90 minute massages at very reasonable (unbeatable, actually) prices and includes heat therapy and occasionally cupping at no additional charge.

★★★★★ — Megan, Jan 2020

I’ve been one of Alex’s clients for over a year. I’m not athletic at all and I’m kind of overweight, arthritic, and old. Alex provides holistic care without judgment, and gives me his full attention every session. I’ve learned how to position my body for better sleep from him.

★★★★★ — Patti, Feb 2023

Alex is the best Massage Therapist I have experienced thus far. I have been seeing him for over 2 years and have never experienced the exact same massage twice yet. He is able to focus on what your body needs at the time of your appointment and customize your massage to address the issue.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
