From the reviews

I went to Ruth at RMA Therapeutic Massage on the recommendation of my PT. I have severe degenerative disc disease and chronic headaches. Ruth listened carefully to my concerns and developed a treatment protocol tailored to my needs.

Love Ruth! I saw Ruth for my chronic shoulder and under arm pain that was flaring up from previous injuries of working at a desk years ago, and her therapy work is great!! She's so thorough, professional, and insightful.

★★★★★ — Gabrielle, Sep 2020

My experience with Ruth at RMA Therapeutic Massage was spectacular! Ruth provides a thorough body assessment to plan your session to your body’s very specific needs. I felt heard & comfortable during our session. Post-massage I was relaxed, renewed, and free of the discomfort I was experiencing before the session.

★★★★★ — Patricia, Jan 2023

Ruth is wonderful! She is extremely professional and easy to work with. She went right to work on my trouble spots that have been causing me pain for almost 3 decades, and made a difference after just the first session!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
