I’ve been attending acupuncture with Julie since September 2023. Her staff are friendly and wonderful. Her facility lends itself to relaxation, healing and wellness. Julie is engaging and inquisitive, interested not only in encouraging your healing process but your life in general.
I am so happy to have found Julie! I have been coming to her for 4 months now and her treatments have made a big difference in my health. Among other things, my migraines and nightmares have decreased dramatically! At the first visit she took a very thorough health history and explained everything to me.
UPDATE: after one week after doing the second session for my sciatica pain (LT leg), I can say that I'm pain free. I had this pain for a about a year and half, and to have it gone after two sessions is such a relief. I went to Julie for 3-4 sessions for a shoulder pain, but didn't feel much relief.
Julie has made acupuncture an incredibly positive experience for me. I was apprehensive, and came to her at the recommendation of a friend, and I'm so glad that I did. She has taken time to work with me as a whole person, which I think has made all the difference. The office and rooms are kept impeccably clean.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
