From the reviews

Overall was a solid experience. Second time getting one of the student 55 minute massages. Plus side is the pricing for service. You cannot beat the discounted rate plus students also do not accept tips even if you offer so the listed price is the all-in price.

★★★★☆ — Aj, Jul 2024

River North Massage Therapy is great! I recently received a massage from Spencer, who is currently a student in the clinic, and he did a fantastic job. He was attentive and professional, making sure I was comfortable the entire time and checking in about pressure and focus areas.

★★★★★ — Alex, Sep 2025

Alex is excellent. I highly recommend him for any type of massage. He provided a 50-minute fully-body massage. I feel so much better. Alex listened to me carefully and addressed my issues perfectly.

★★★★★ — Kelly, Jul 2025

I wanted to extend my sincerest gratitude to the River North Massage Team and their outstanding support during our recent corporate event at Meta. 5 stars across the board! I’d like to give a special shout-out to Rafael, Anna, Chelsea, and Emmanuel for their exceptional professionalism through out our event.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
