I had been dealing with a lower back injury from golf that had been bothering me for weeks. First time something like this has ever happened to me. The pain was bad enough that I couldn’t sleep laying straight on my back, and I even started feeling some numbness in my thigh to inner groin, something I had never…
I have been working with Ryan for 3 months. He has worked with me to rehab and strengthen my right leg following a full knee replacement. My goal is to improve my overall strength, flexibility and mobility. Ryan has taught me how to accomplish these goals.
Ryan did an excellent job of diagnosing and treating my knee pain issue. He quickly identified the root cause, provided appropriate exercises, and used treatments that instantly removed the pain that I had been experiencing.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
