From the reviews
I have been working with Laura for over a year and since meeting her I felt welcomed and at ease in her presence. Laura is truly dedicated to understanding her clients' needs on a deep level. During our sessions, Laura has taken her time getting to know my body's unique requirements.
As a physical therapist I am so happy to find amazing providers and Laura is beyond. I had personally been dealing with chronic shoulder pain in my right shoulder that had been around for years. At times the pain would flare to the point of tears... and that's when I met Laura.
I have been coming to Laura for many years - at least 10, but probably more like 15. She always analyzes my body, my walk, etc. And then works on me based on that, along with what is hurting, etc. I am a runner so I often have trouble with my hips and about 2 years ago, I started having trouble with a knee.
Laura is at once a complete professional and a welcoming, friendly presence. Her studio is tranquility personified: simple and clean. I had no idea I could feel SO much better after she practiced her neural/massage/teaching magic!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
