After multiple but failed attempts from my docs to treat my various ailments, I decided to give acupuncture a try. I am grateful to have found a gifted healer like Heather, who really listens and treats the issue.

***Update*** 1.5 years later. Heather completely healed my trigger thumb and I continue to see her for weekly wellness. I look forward to my visits. She is truly the best of the best! Thank you Heather, for this positive acupuncture experience. I’m looking forward to future appointments as my trigger thumb heals.

Beautiful space to visit and be treated by a compassionate, insightful, talented acupuncturist. Heather has created a zen space for healing in Pacifica, nestled within the local community, with plenty of parking and refreshing smells of the ocean breeze.

★★★★★ — Maggie, Oct 2020

Heather is a wonderful practitioner. She has helped me with all of my tennis and surfing injuries including my ankle and shoulders. The shoulder pain was chronic, thought I'd have it forever, but after 3 treatments I can now barely feel the pain.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
