From the reviews

I love these people! I was referred in by my yoga instructor to help me address pain issues I was having and before I knew it, I became part of the acupuncture family! I receive not only acupuncture and herbs but cupping as well as Traumeel injections for my newly diagnosed arthritic hands.

★★★★★ — Dianne, Apr 2024

I’ve been a happy Prickly Pear client for more than a year now and I can’t recommend them enough. I typically see Irin for motor point needling of my face to keep me looking young and for anything else that’s ailing me. And I see Peter for needling and cupping my shoulders to address old rotator cuff injuries.

★★★★★ — Eddie, Mar 2025

As an acupuncturist myself I highly recommend this clinic. Their education and training exceeds most other clinics. They are compassionate, real people that truly care about your experience.

★★★★★ — Rebecca, Mar 2024

Both Irin and Pete are my most trusted providers. They care about the people they treat and are passionate about an improved life for all their clients. Both are down to earth and actively listen to my concerns while also providing follow up questions.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
