From the reviews

Point of Healing has completely changed my life! I have been seeing Alison for over a year now and she has helped me tremendously. She has a wonderful, kind, and caring personality and will always bend over backwards to help you. She genuinely cares about her clients and their well-being.

Alison has changed my life! I suffered a back injury almost 10 years ago and have been since on medication for the pain. I was able to finally get off almost all the meds and I am slowly decreasing the remaining meds as they are no longer needed after only 3 treatments!

★★★★★ — Melinda, Nov 2020

I have been seeing Alison since 2009, she is fantastic, I don't know where I would be without her! Being an asthmatic all my life, combined with stomach and female issues, I was on a variety of medications and on steroids at least twice a year for my asthma.

★★★★★ — Kristin, Feb 2019

I have been visiting Alison once a month for 5 years. I enjoy many benefits including reduction of low back pain, eczema relief, alopeca treatment, and anxiety management. In addition to the benefits of acupuncture, Alison is incredibly caring, easy to talk to, and down to earth.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
