From the reviews
I went in to see Amy with a concern about a pain near my shoulder blade. After I explained what I was feeling, she decided a quick muscle test was in order. That led to her determining that I was having an issue with my rhomboid muscle.
I went to see Amy due to some strong pain in my heel. The pain was pretty intense and made my life difficult to navigate. I was limping for at least two weeks prior to my first visit.
I highly recommend Amy as a very skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist. I have known her for over 10 years and as an Orthopedic Surgeon I have referred 100s of patients to her for treatment...both nonoperative and operative patients.
Pinpoint Physical Therapy changed the game for me. Last May, I limped across the finish line of the Chicago Half Marathon. By October, I ran the Chicago Marathon. I attribute that to one thing: physical therapy with Amy Paribello. She gave me the guidance and exercise regime to gain strength in EVERY PART OF MY BODY.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
