From the reviews
I had a surgical procedure done on my shoulder and my Doctor recommended me to Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Center located at 1211 West Main Street in Waterbury. I am very happy with the treatment I received so far, because I am feeling stronger and better every day.
Everyone is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. The atmosphere is very positive and encouraging to the clients. I have one therapist (with the assistants) who customized a rehab plan to meet my individual needs. I couldn’t be happier with the experience!
Erin is a very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive Physical Therapist. She helped me tremendously in my concussion recovery and with my neck issues. I'm very grateful for my experience at PTSMC.
I started going to PTSM about 2 months ago. I see Erin who is extremely knowledgeable, patient with me and truly listens to what I am feeling to find the best solution. In the 2 months that I've been seeing Erin I've seen more progress in my neck condition then I did going to a Chiropractor for 2 years!!!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
