From the reviews
Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center, Naugatuck is quite exceptional. Here they provide very effective and efficient care that brings you back to your full physical potential in much less time than you thought.
I have seen Megan, Becky and more often Joe at the clinic. Adam and the other PT Aides are also very good to assist you in going over all your exercises while you’re there. They are all very patient, kind, professional and compassionate Physical Therapists. I highly recommend them.
I have gone to Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine for two different issues in the past 6 months. My experience has been amazing. Everyone is totally professional. The appointments are scheduled so that you are taken in a timely manner. My therapist is Joe and I cannot say enough about him and his skills.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars to the staff at PTSMC Naugatuck! Xavier is just awesome. He’s caring and personable but also makes you put in the work. Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers Naugatuck
Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers Naugatuck comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
