Why Peaceful Points Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “ed? What should I expect during treatment? How should I prepare? Do the needles hurt? How deep do they go? How safe is acupuncture? Is acupuncture safe for children? What type of schooling do acupuncturists get? What is Cupping? What is…” source →

This was my first time doing acupuncture. Shelly made me very comfortable, she listen to my story and took the information she needed from that, plus what she observed to develop a treatment plan. I highly recommend peaceful point to others.

Shelly was very nice and knowledgeable. I could tell she read through my intake paperwork well and asked me educated questions. I was so relaxed during the treatment session! I will be back next week! I highly recommend her!

I’ve been coming to Peaceful Points for a few months for extreme hyposmia (diminished smell) and I can now catch scents more. I am hopeful now that this will just keep improving. Shelley took my concerns very seriously- did extra research so that I can regain my sense of smell.

★★★★★ — Christine, Jul 2026

Shelly at Peaceful Points Acupuncture. She is truly an intuitive healer! Every time I leave her office, I feel a sense of peace and balance that carries with me. Shelly has helped open up channels within me, leading to greater grounding and an expansion of my spiritual gifts.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
