I had my first massage in over 10 years yesterday. Charlene did a wonderful job. I have a hard time with people touching me and she was very in tune to that and explain to me everything as she was doing it.
I have lymphedema from trunk to feet. I also have lupus. I’m grateful to Diedra, as the lymphatic drainage massage works wonderfully…the 1st time I went I lost 10 lbs of lymphatic fluid in a week. She is also accustomed to working with cancer and autoimmune patients.
Diedra is unbelievable. I am not one that likes to be touched but she made the experience so comfortable. She talked with me during the session (she knew I didn’t want the silence with music) we grew a connection and she helped with my shoulder issues.
Had a great session today with Diedra! She always asks if I have an area that’s troublesome first. And with our history she knows my other sore spots as well. She has a great touch and can always find where it hurts. Highly recommended by anyone who’s looking for a great m-therapist with a holistic approach!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
