THEY GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK! I had been to numerous doctors, had a variety of tests performed, tried different and well known PT places (and continued to worsen), expensive pain relief establishments, even hospitalized. At my lowest I had to use a walker. I had no quality of life & was just existing.
I was referred to Orchard Park progressive physical therapy and recently had my first appointment with Kate. She is absolutely amazing !!! I didn't even know that therapy for lymphodema was a thing. Kate enlightened me tremendously. She informed and taught me so much.
Good people. Wish I'd continued but family issues made it so I couldn't. These folks know what they are doing and are very pleasant to work with. They listen to each person and help develop a plan to relieve your pain and make you function better. It might be a challenge but its what your body NEEDs.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
