…Acupuncture, stimulaiton, gua sha, & cupping had always made a huge difference in my physical recovery. So last year, in the midst of an early pregnancy loss, when I saw their social media post offering natural fertility treatments I called to schedule a consultation to find out more.
When I first entered Greg Carey's office, I was a mess. I had been struggling with fibroids and an overall feeling of exhaustion. He listened carefully to my concerns, unlike the many doctors that I had visited previously. His patience and gentle care is absolutely wonderful!
I had numbness and tingling on my back and feet for months. After going to the doctor multiple times, the neurologist, rheumatologist, vascular and endocrinologist and none could find an answer for my symptoms. I decided to give accupuncture a try after meeting with Dr. Carey.
I felt well cared for during and after chemotherapy and after surgery. Greg will answer any question about treatment (and more), which I found very helpful. As a bonus, the seats and tables are the most comfortable I've ever experienced. The office staff are friendly and whole place has a nice atmosphere.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
