From the reviews
Dr. Jennifer is so wonderful! She was recommend to me by a friend for acupuncture and I couldn't be happier. She is very professional, kind and so caring. She's always so gentle with the acupuncture and explained the cupping process since that was new to me.
I started seeing Jennifer after a car accident that morphed into the most challenging summer ever and nothing gave me as much peace in my body or my mind as Dr. Olsen’s acupuncture, cupping, and her all around compassion and empathy. I can’t recommend her services enough, and if you can get the Happy Buddha treatment!!
I’m really lazy about writing reviews, but Jennifer is so worth raving about! My experience at Now and Zen Acupuncture with Jennifer was fantastic. I’ve recommended her to coworkers and friends. She’s kind. Takes time to listen to your needs. Almost a week after my visit i’ve been pain free of my chronic pain areas.
Dr. Jennifer Olsen is an absolute healer. She is incredibly skilled at acupuncture and cupping as well as massage. She has helped with relieving chronic headaches, neck and back tension and overall balancing of my body systems.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
