From the reviews

Dr. Steve is absolutely amazing! I’ve gone to many of chiropractors over the years and none, not one comes close to him. His care, his thoughtfulness, his intention is all so felt. He goes far above and beyond any other chiropractor I’ve ever seen.

★★★★★ — Ellis, Aug 2024

I had been suffering from persistent scapula pain for over 3 years, trying various treatments with little to no relief until I found Dr. Steven Paliakas Nova Chiropractic Rehabilitation. From the very first visit, I felt confident I was in the right hands.

★★★★★ — Marlene, Aug 2025

I have been going to Dr. Steve for a few years now at both the Wheaton and Downers Grove locations. I have had a long history of "tech-neck" and just general back pain. Dr. Steve has always helped. He is not like the other chiropractors that I have visited over the last decade who just want you in and out.

★★★★★ — Guy, Feb 2018

Dr. Steve improved my life. I went to Nova Chiropractic after unsuccessfully treating a shoulder and achillies injures with physical therapy. Through Dr. Steve’s acupuncture and dry needling treatments along with massage and stretching, both injuries improved dramatically.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
