From the reviews
I came in for red light therapy, feeling under the weather. Susan suggested ionic foot detox, which I did, and she went out of her way to prepare a cup of tea and an herbal remedy for me. I felt very pampered and well cared for! I left feeling much better. Thanks, Susan!,
I'm a first timer at Northwoods Acupuncture and I couldnt have been more pleased. Amy is very knowledgeable and cares deeply about your wellness. She truly wants you to be able to perform at your very best. Honesty and integrity are 2 very important characteristics I look for in people.
If you like personal attention and want to really be involved in your treatment, this is the place to go ! I can not tell you how wonderful, professional & yet warm going to Northwoods Acupuncture, has been. I love Ian, he truly cares about his patients. Wants to hear what you have to say. Excellent at his job.
The last four years of my life have been filled with misery and suffering so great that I doubted recovery. I believe Tibetan Buddhist Monks would classify it as "indestructible pain". Something compelled me to try acupuncture at Northwoods, to alleviate my mental anguish.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
