From the reviews

I started seeing Kristi for relief from low back pain and during recovery from a lower leg injury, which were both persistent issues of mine. As a firefighter, I had many occupational aches and pains due to the nature of the work we perform.

My experience with Northwest Health Specialties, and specifically Dr. Julia, has been very positive. She’s patient and kind and takes time with understanding what your needs are. I have been able to address multiple health concerns with lifestyle and supplementation and prescription recommendations she has made.

I cannot thank Dr. Julia for all of her help, care and professionalism. After seeing countless doctors for over a year, with countless tests and no success or diagnosis, Dr.

Kristi has been my massage therapist for several years now and I absolutely love seeing her. She is the best therapist and really knows what my body needs for healing. I look forward to my monthly massage and could not imagine seeing any other therapist. I also enjoy going to NW Health Specialties.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
