UPDATE 2/23/2024: My husband and I have started receiving cupping treatment from Jessica and it has tryly been beneficial. I was concerned that it would hurt during and/or after the treatment, but there is no pain involved whatsoever.

I never take the time to leave reviews. However when I received such high level of service and treatment at New Dawn Myotherapy I had to share. New Dawn Myotherapy came highly recommended by several of my friends and after many recent sub-par experiences at my usual massage spot and many more here in Louisville I…

Jessica is very knowledgeable about body and muscle. It's been a blessing to find a person like her. She has magic healing hands and lowers my chronic muscle pain when every medicine has failed. She's a true medical professional. 10/10

I have been suffering with a pinched sciatic nerve for months! The pain began at my right lower back/glute area and ran down the outer part of my leg. It was difficult to even get into my car; the pain would race down my leg. Being a very active 59 yo female, I have no time for anything that slows me down.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
