New Beauty and Wellness in New Canaan is a beautiful place that feels so zen. Laina did the laser treatment on my face and she is an absolute pleasure. She cares about the results and worked intently on the areas that needed it. I loved the treatment and the results were beautiful.
I’ve had multiple massages with Kelly McCaffrey, and every experience has been exceptional. She is highly attentive to her clients’ needs, takes the time to understand what your body needs in the moment, and creates a calm, comfortable environment from start to finish.
New Beauty in New Canaan is one of my favorite wellness spots in Fairfield County. The physical space is beautiful and extremely clean but the staff is really amazing. Laina, one of the nurses, has been incredibly helpful, responsive, and just a pleasure to work with.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
