From the reviews
I'm a believer. I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and was being treated for 3 months - with orthotics, brace, wraps, icing, NSAIDs, and physical therapy - before coming here. The condition was getting progressively worse - the doctor scheduled me for an MRI and told me that surgery was likely.
To say I was skeptical about acupuncture is an understatement. However, I had been hearing about Dr Grill for weeks with regard to a rotator cuff issue I had for months. My options were getting slim and to the point of a cortisone shot being on the horizon, which I knew was just not for me.
I have been a grateful customer since 2015. Frank has been part of my personal support system taking care of many sport injuries, recovery from car accident and the daily grind of every day stress. There are very few practitioners who continue to develop and further their knowledge of their craft.
I have had the privilege of receiving treatment at Naperville Acupuncture, and I can confidently say that Frank Grill is an exceptional diagnostician. His deep knowledge, combined with a genuine empathy and a commitment to continuous learning, sets him apart.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
