From the reviews
This is the best accupuncture in northern Virginia! I came to them with migraines headaches and neck pain and have been well taken care of. I have been able to come off of medications and have eliminated daily tension headaches. They also offer cupping which has really helped.
I began visiting MyungMun about a month ago, and was referred by a colleague who had only great things to say about them. My experience here has been nothing short of phenomenal. Mr. Choi and his son Daniel have been kind, accommodating and welcoming, and each visit is somehow more peaceful than the last.
My wife has seen Dr Choi at Myungmun Acupunture a number of times over the past 10 years and I notice a remarkable improvement in her overall general heath after completing each series of sessions. In the past month she has been treated for immune problems and digestive issues.
What a treat! I'm new to VA but not to acupuncture, so I relied on Google's reviews in selecting MyungMun Acupuncture. I just had my fourth treatment since I started in December 2024. I continue to be impressed.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
