From the reviews
Yen has helped my husband so much! Between the expert needle insertions, the cupping, the massage, and manual manipulation, she focuses on a whole body experience. My husband is a Veteran and his acupucture is covered completely by the VA! This is something that she can help you with if you are a Veteran!
Yen is a really gifted practitioner! Her cupping helped me so much and she is knowledgable, caring, and provides a nice environment. I'd highly recommend seeing her for acupuncture!
It worked! Again! I felt a significant improvement after seeing Yen last year for chronic lower back pain. Prior to the treatment, exercising would worsen the pain. Yen loosened all the stubborn knots in the area and over time, the pain went away completely as I worked on strengthening the muscles in my lower back.
I'm extremely happy with the care I have gotten here, my pain relief and ability to stay cool with so much stress going on has really been lifted since starting. She's literally a doctor so she knows the body more than just needling, that's extremely reassuring that she knows both western and eastern medicine.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
