From the reviews
I was lucky enough to find Barbara Mikula by chance on Google and if I could send all of my friends and family her way, I would. From the first visit, I felt immediately at ease in her presence and the level of attention she provided in getting to know me.
I found Mikula Acupuncture around year 3 of my TTC + IVF journey. Barbara started by creating a holistic plan including nutrition advice, vitamin supplements, Chinese herbs, and acupuncture. I appreciate Barbara’s direct and honest advice and recommendations in these areas.
Barbara was the game changer in my infertility journey. Her acupuncture, as well as the lifestyle changes advised, guided me through an extremely difficult part of my life with care and understanding. In addition to the fertility support, she helped tremendously with my general stress level.
Barbara is amazing. She really takes the time to listen and understand your body and what is going on. I went to her for acupuncture to aid in fertility. I truly believe going to barbara gave me my son. I will forever be grateful for her guidance, treatment and kindness.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
