Head Spa Review - I visited Raina for the very first time for my first head spa treatment. I've been meaning to try out a head spa for so long and the stars aligned. Raina made me feel so welcome and comfortable. Her new studio space is such a vibe - there's even a coffee shop in the lobby!
Raina is the best massage therapist and I'll tell you why. Her attention to detail, respectful manner, and acknowledgment of boundaries made me feel SO safe and heard. Raina is absolutely amazing! I took my 8 year old daughter for her first “spa experience” after seeing Raina at Ahwatukee’s First Friday event. She was one of very few that offered kid’s massages. She made my daughter and I both feel so comfortable, relaxed, and made this experience for my little one unforgettable.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
