From the reviews

Other than a poor experience on the first day, which I have already communicated to you, I have an extremely positive experience. Jake Rowland is by far the best physical therapist that I have ever worked with, and I have seen many. His knowledge and talents are at the top of his game.

This last year has had me in PT for a lot of weeks and at more than one place. Right now, I am getting PT at home for a hip replacement that was 13 days ago, and I am learning that mostly, my VNA therapist sees people who are not happy to see her even though she’s the key to their recovery.

★★★★★ — Jacqueline, Apr 2026

I came to Maritime Physical Therapy in Plymouth for a torn bicep muscle. The office location was perfect for me as it was close to my home. I worked with Jacob who reviewed my situation and developed a specific PT plan of action to get me stronger and to increase my mobility.

My daughter has been dealing with os-good slaughter for several years now. We have tried a few PT facilities but none that helped. Mainly just print outs for exercises off google. After being desperate (her knee was in a huge flare up) and she’s an advent soccer player we were recommended to maritime physical therapy.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
