From the reviews
Wow! I booked a 2 hour ashiatsu session with Marie. She was welcoming from the moment I stepped in her office. She offered hot stones or cupping as a complimentary addition, but I decided to go for just the massage for this first visit. It was amazing!
Marie’s Ashiatsu massage is a monthly treat that I eagerly anticipate. The atmosphere at her studio is always warm and welcoming. Creating an instant sense of relaxation.
I had my first session with Marie and was very impressed by the experience. I had never had ashiatsu massage before and was concerned about how much control there would be personalizing pressure when using feet. I had no reason to be concerned! Marie had excellent pressure and all my pain points addressed.
When I came to Marie, I had been suffering from some neck pain that no modality could touch. I tried acupuncture, shiatsu (not Marie's technique of ashiatsu), swedish massage, yoga, stretching, icey hot, chiropractor, the list goes on.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
