From the reviews
I have been seeing Bri at Maine Bodywork’s for about 4 weeks now for medical massage specifically manual lymphatic massage and scar recovery after a large procedure. I cannot recommend Bri enough to anyone and everyone.
I had such an amazing massage experience! The pressure was absolutely perfect, and the temperature throughout the session was so comfortable and relaxing. What really made the experience stand out, though, was how kind, welcoming, and easy to be around my massage therapist was.
I hand't had a massage in a few months and was looking for a new massage therapist relatively close to home. I made an appointment with Angel Smith, not because I knew her or had been referred to her, but because the day and time worked for me.
Angel at Maine Bodyworks is an incredible massage therapist and I highly recommend her. She listens well and is very knowledgeable and skilled at what she does. After a session, not only can I move my muscles in ways I couldn't before, I feel healed and empowered. Thank you, Angel!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
