From the reviews
I’ve been to Luminance twice now and I’m really impressed! The studio is beautiful and relaxing — it smells lovely and the bed is super comfortable. Johanna is an incredibly talented massage therapist. I actually told her it felt like she got into muscles no therapist I’ve seen ever has!
Phenomenal deep tissue massage and cupping session. Johanna is highly knowledgeable about the body, pushing it to the limits needed, without going too far, for optimal release of pressure and ultimately better recovery. Highly recommended!!
From the moment you walk into Luminance Wellness, you feel it. A welcoming environment, calming energy, and the most soothing, spa-like scent that instantly puts your nervous system at ease. I’ve been dealing with persistent neck pain since May and have been on a long quest to find the right therapist.
I cannot recommend Johanna enough! From the moment I walked in to her cozy space, she made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. Her professionalism, warmth, and intuitive touch are unmatched. She truly listens to what your body needs and tailors the session perfectly.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
