I have had poor experiences with physical therapists in my past. In fact, one physical therapist landed me a second back surgery. Dustin has restored my faith in PT. He closely followed my neurosurgeon’s prescription for care.
Lucas Therapies has an awesome, knowledgeable staff member with Dustin. My initial contact was Trevor. He listened to my concerns and got me started on the right path. Dustin was my regular PT. I actually looked forward to the sessions.
Staff is incredible, very knowledgeable , friendly, and a work environment was always a happy place to come to. Trevor has treated me for shoulder pain as well as sciatica. He set up a program to help with shoulder pain and sciatica which worked great. Can’t say enough about my visits there as everyone was just great.
This is my second round of PT with Lucas Therapies, and I cannot say enough good things about this practice! I went to weekly tune up sessions while training for a marathon. Trevor treated all of my different aches and pains (hip, knee, and calf) to get me through the training block.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
