From the reviews

I’ve been seeing Dr DiMaggio for about 3 months now. I’ve seen remarkable improvement in many of my problem areas, shoulder & back mostly. I was a bit nervous having never done cupping or acupuncture before, but was put right at ease by the office staff. The patient room is very zen.

I had an amazing experience at LPAAC with Dr. Galya! She was so kind, understanding, and patient, which immediately made me feel comfortable. I had both acupuncture and cupping done, and she explained everything clearly and made the whole process relaxing.

Cathy and her Team are great!! The moment you walk in the door you know you are in good hands and that your concerns are their concerns. Amazingly, Cathy can "pin point" exactly where the pains are. After 60 minutes of acupuncture and cupping I always feel like a weight has been lifted off my back.

Cathy and her team are great and very professional. I have been under her care for over a year and my pain has reduced immensely. They are always willing to work if there are any conflicts with scheduling. Cathy is also a veteran, which helps with relating to what we have to deal with.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
