From the reviews
Luis is exceptional in his skills with NMT. Unlike a typical massage, the experience focuses on the connections between muscles, especially my traps. Luis also applied dynamic cupping to get the blood flowing. He also used intra oral massage to work on long nights of clinching and TMJ. Thank you Luis!
Came in with several issues such as neuropathy, tingling, numbness, and muscle weakness. Over multiple sessions I've noticed my symptoms have been gradually getting better. Each session is unique using both massage therapy and cupping techniques.
Luis is my go to man for low back pain and hip pain. His neuromuscular work is amazing. He did mobility stretches that helped undo years of sitting and bad posture. He KNOWS his anatomy and how muscles and posture affect how you feel. He made sure I was comfortable with his draping. His personality also put me at ease.
As a physical therapist with over 20 years of experience, I have high standards when it comes to bodywork—and I can confidently say that Luis at Live Well NMT exceeded every one of them. I came in dealing with stubborn muscle spasms that had persisted for months.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
