When I first went to Light & Dark, I was a mess. Years of COVID life, trying to balance hectic new job with lots of travel and being a present mom/wife/friend/daughter. I was beyond exhausted all the time - all I wanted to do was nap - and I cried almost every day for no reason.
Both Molly and Hannah are incredible with kids. My daughter has been treated for a variety of conditions by these amazing women, and I would highly recommend working with either of them.
My daughter and I have seen Hannah and Molly and highly recommend both of them! My daughter is 6 and is very attached to Hannah and trusts her immensely. While her general fear of needles/shots is about the same she has come to understand and be okay with acupuncture "tap-taps" under Hannah's care which is a huge deal.
Guess what? I have never been to Light & Dark Acupuncture but I would go AGAIN & AGAIN if I lived in Denver. The ONLY reason for 4 stars, and not 5, is that I have never yet been physically examined by Dr. Dyer. However, that doesn't stop my enthusiasm for what Molly Dyer can do.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
