From the reviews
Gina is amazing! I always feel better after a treatment with her. She not only does extra research if necessary, but she is willing to go above and beyond to make sure her patients have the best care possible. I have been seeing her for years now and when my mom is in town, she sees Gina, too.
Gina is compassionate and a good listener that really cares about her patients. She both asks and answers questions to provide the best care. The office is inviting and serene with so many sweet little details to make you feel good to be there.
I have been getting acupuncture since I was 19 years old for chronic pain from sports injuries from all sorts of clinics all over the country and the world- Colorado, California, Hawaii, Nicaragua, and Australia to name a few. But honestly it wasn't until I met Gina that my perception of acupuncture changed.
I really can’t say enough good things about Dr. Gina and all the staff at Lake Tahoe Acupuncture. Everyone is so friendly and kind. Dr. Gina truly cares about her patients. She is extremely knowledgeable and always takes her time with you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
