What clients say about the cupping here
“Minya is everything I could’ve asked for in a practitioner: passionate, knowledgeable, and deeply thoughtful.”
“Minya listened and made me feel more heard than any orthopedic specialist and, beyond that, after a few sessions with her my pain is almost completely gone.”
“Every step of my experience was designed to keep me comfortable; each of my needs respected and inquired about.”
“The space feels safe and clean and there’s never any waiting in the waiting room.”
From the reviews
Minya is a QUEEN. I cannot say enough good things. I had debilitating pain from my hand down my arm. I tried changing my work setup to be more ergonomic, which did little to help. I went to a dr and left feeling dismayed. I had never had acupuncture before, but decided I would try.
I came into Kingston acupuncture weeks ago with chronic and often severe pain that my western medicine practitioners have struggled to help me manage. Minya’s extensive knowledge and experience are clear to me; her placement of needles as well as her compassionate voice and wisdom regarding Qi and the mind-body…
I was expecting back pain when I showed up and when I left I wasn’t. I’ve been going to Kingston Acupuncture & wellness for about 10 years now, and I will continue to go because Minya knows what she is doing.
Minya is exceptional and very knowledgeable. You can tell she approaches the work with dedication and rigorous detail that’s unique to each client. I highly recommend this practice.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
