I have had severe sciatica for over a year. Multiple bulging discs, torn discs. Degenerative Disc Disease. I have tried various options for pain relief including chiropractic treatment, different medicines, physical therapy. None of these worked for me. I was referred to Dr. Kim through the VA community care program.
Dr. Kim is wonderful. She is highly knowledgeable and listens carefully to provide the just right treatment. I have come to Dr. Kim for both shoulder and disc issues. For both, I received immediate relief and over time more permanent healing. I am also so grateful for Dr. Kim’s responsiveness and flexibility.
Dr. Kim is amazingly skilled and very kind. I have had chronic pain for years, but thanks to Dr. Kim, It is possible for me to live a much better life.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
