From the reviews
My sister and I always say "trust the path"... I discovered Kat on accident when I visited Kimberly for rolfing (she has a space in Kat's office and is amazing!). I am a firm believer in acupuncture, but needed more than what I was currently doing.
I don’t even know where to start, Kat is amazing!! I wanted to schedule an appointment with her on a day that she was fully booked and she moved her appointments around to get me in. We spent the first 30 min going over my health concerns and areas I was hoping to work on.
Kat Barber is a phenomenal acupuncturist. She listens and takes time with each session to better formulate one's treatment. I have had dozens of acupuncture and cupping treatments from Kat. The acupuncture I have received has significantly improved my physical as well as emotional and mental health.
Kat deserves 6 stars out of 5! She is incredible, I'm so happy a friend referred me to her. She's treating my neck pain. She's very knowledgeable about what acupuncture can help with. The rooms she has are private and are very comfortable, making going to acupuncture more of a treat.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
